Title : HIV to AIDS: cures and prevention?
After the several posts on what HIV is,how it is transmitted,the life cycle of HIV and how HIV actually weakens the immune system, we have finally learned that HIV can eventually cause Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome(AIDS) which is extremely fatal. We also found out that the only medication figured out against HIV till today is the combination therapy in which more than one medication is prescribed to the patient with the same intention of stopping HIV from further damaging the immune system. Thus, the few things we can do on our part is to go for regular medical check ups, ensure that we always have protected sex (unless you trust your partner completely) and if we ever have to deal with blood, ensure careful handling as discussed previously :)
